Sunflower August 2025

I wrote a new poem early this year which caused me to reflect on what I focused on.

Sunflowers bloom looking at the sun

We to looking to Jesus in what He has done

His finished work has set us free

To be the sons and daughters He knew we could be

All written in His book before time

I am His and He is mine

He keeps, loves and protects His own

Because of the imperishable seed sown

Sown in the good ground of our hearts

To bring blessings of His life for a start

Start of a new life that prospers in all

Replacing the negative from the fall.

The imperishable seeds, (gemstones)   sown in the good ground of our hearts that bring blessings.

I grew some sunflowers this summer and found when I looked up at these magnificent flowers I could not help but think about the creator who created them. Beholding these flowers seem to occupy my mind with such beauty that there was no room to see the weeds I still had in the ground underneath. The same when I focus on Jesus's faithfullness my circumstances loose their power to worry me.
